Becoming Administrator on your own server using tokens

The new TS3 server owner will use an automatically created token to grant administrative privileges. The token is listed in the Welcome email sent when the server was setup. For example,  ServerAdmin token: TPyeBvpmrDbGVnhgg3ME1bAY7SLqYJB0KkTCHzf3

The server owner connects using the TeamSpeak 3 client with his still restricted permissions. The client offers a dialog. Copy and paste the token. If the token is correct and has not yet been used, the user will be elevated and gain administrator permissions by joining the Server Admin permission group. The token can only be used once. Attempting to use it a second time will result in an error.

  1. Receive email with server information and token
  2. Open client and connect to server (IP and port)
  3. Select Permissions in client and then select Token or use the 'T' key i8n the console client
  4. Paste the token into the clients token dialog
